How do you show gratitude? We often think grand gestures are the best way to show someone that you love and care for them, but sometimes the smallest gestures speak volumes. We call these small acts of love or kindness. They are thoughtful, compassionate acts that show and communicate to someone that you care.
What can you do? Cleaning is not a glamorous task or the fanciest gesture, but believe me when I say small cleaning gestures go a long way to showing a loved one you appreciate them. Here are some little tasks you can do around the house that will truly make a difference:
Tidy Up – Tidying up is always a tedious task but it is always easier to keep your home clean than cleaning it when it’s messy. Take some time out of your day and pick up toys, organize, straighten out the shoes, fold blankets, etc. When you help tidy up and organize, you both end up having time to do the things you love to do.
Making the bed – There’s nothing quite like getting into a made bed at the end of a long day. Not only that, a tidy bed will make even a messy room seem cleaner.
Vacuuming – What better way to say “thank you” than vacuuming?! Sure, there are other ways but this act is thoughtful, it shows you care, and it makes a huge difference around the home.
Dishes – No one likes to do them. Washing, loading or unloading. Whatever you can do to help goes a long way.
Bathroom – Change the toilet paper roll, believe me when I say women notice and we are extremely thankful when it gets changed. If you really want to impress them, use a damp cloth and wipe out the sink to leave a lasting impression.
Whether you are on the giving or receiving end, small acts of love and kindness are rewarding and thoughtful. I always feel better knowing that I am helping someone and making a difference in their day.
